About the Save Energy Now Indiana! Program

We are pleased to announce the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) - Industrial Technology Program awarded a “Save Energy Now” grant to fund the Purdue TAP EES “Save Energy Now Indiana!” project. Its goal is to firmly establish a program aimed at reducing the energy intensity of industrial facilities by at least 25% over the next 10 years.

Purdue TAP EES Will Provide:

Training & Education: Through Purdue TAP and DOE BestPractices™ Workshops and Qualified Specialists Workshops.

For workshop dates, visit http://mep.purdue.edu/events/#energy.

Awareness: Purdue TAP will provide resources, knowledge, and information to industrial facilities through the SEN Industrial Energy Efficiency Forum August 10, 2010 in Indianapolis. Click here for more details! Register by clicking here!

Implementation Assistance: Purdue TAP is conducting energy assessments for an industrial facilities or manufacturing plants. For more information, contact Ethan Rogers at 317-275-6817 or earogers@purdue.edu.

Energy Management Demonstration Program: For a limited time, one Indiana manufacturer can bring US Department of Energy and Purdue University resources to their industrial facility for assistance in reducing energy use and carbon emissions. The Energy Management Demonstration Program rolls three U.S. Department of Energy Programs into one larger 18 month program. See flyer for more details.

Energy Efficiency Practitioner Program: Making energy efficiency part of a continuous improvement program requires an investment in training project teams in the knowledge and tools necessary to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and justify investments. Our Energy Efficiency Practitioner Program brings the systematic approach of LEAN manufacturing to the world of energy efficiency. Your team will learn how to conduct an energy survey, incorporate their findings into a value stream map, identify projects with the greatest potential for savings and then present implementation justification to management. See flyer for more details.

Technology Commercialization Portal: The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced the launch of the Technology Commercialization Portal—an online resource that will serve as a tool for potential investors to identify opportunities to invest in work being conducted by DOE laboratories and participating research institutions. Traditionally, investors, entrepreneurs, and companies have faced substantial barriers when identifying clean energy technologies to license. The Technology Commercialization Portal will help reduce these barriers to investment providing capital markets with key information on the attributes, uses, benefits, and market-readiness of specific energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies.
